J N Bentley chose Watson-Marlow Bredel for desludging units complete with diesel generators for sites operated by Yorkshire Water. Using 40mm or 50mm pumps, the units have been designed for operation in remote pumping stations and at locations lacking an adequate power supply. The systems are mounted on a steel baseframe, together with battery, electric starter and fuel tank. An operator on-site manually controls starting, stopping and running times. Ideal for humus sludge, the SPX40 units are fitted with a 0.55kW IP55 geared motor giving a pump speed of 20 rev/min and an output of approximately 1600 litre/hour. The SPX50 units, usually specified for primary sludge, are fitted with a 1.5kW geared motor giving a pump speed of 19 rev/min and an output of approximately 3300 litre/hour. Although conditions will inevitably vary from site to site, discharge is up to 5 bar and the pumps are capable of self-priming up to 9.5m water column. Options include units for fully automatic operation with integral control panels enabling pumps to be started and stopped at predetermined times. Weather and/or sound-proof covers and larger capacity fuel tanks to facilitate timer-controlled operation for periods of up to one week are also available. Now firmly established in the industry with many years successful operation on a wide variety of sewage sludge pumping duties, Watson-Marlow Bredel hose pumps are produced for outputs up to 80,000 l/h and pressures up to 16 bar. |
