Watson-Marlow pumps, factory installed on the UV varnish tower coater of MAN Roland printing machines, have reduced downtime, increased production speed and proved their reliability in use at printers throughout the world.
Twin pumpheads are fitted to a single 700 series peristaltic pump, one of which meters the water-based varnish to a weir, and the other, fitted with slightly larger bore tubing, scavenges the excess varnish and returns it for recirculation. Watson-Marlow pumps eliminated the problems with diaphragm pumps of poor control of flow, inconsistent start-up flow, clogging of valves and lengthy pump downtime for cleaning at the end of a print run. Cleaning is now not necessary because the viscous varnish is contained within a tube from source to delivery. An additional advantage of self-priming Watson-Marlow pumps is the saving on varnish at start-up. |
